Technology (and information technology in particular) continually advances with the release of new products, new software and hardware that directly or indirectly influence the state of the art. Students study the effects of technology changes and advances, the factors that drive advances, strategies for dealing with them, and the management of technology development and market relevant innovation. These skills are important for any industry where technology has a significant impact on its operations and profitability. In addition, it is important from a perspective of research and development, to design strategies that unlock the potential of innovations.
