For PCM Core and PCM AddOn releases, the following versioning scheme is used.

• feature_xy_major.minor.revision
  • The major version is increased if the release features major updates, significant changes, etc.
  • The minor version is increased if the release features minor changes or some new features.
  • The revision is increased if the release only features bugfixes, refactorings, etc.

Plugin versions do not have to be increased to match a release, but feature versions have to.

For PCM AddOns, this scheme should be used. For PCM Core, the scheme is up for discussion.
